Mysuru, July 2-4: Students of Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Srinagar completed a debate workshop organised by Swami Vivekananda Yuva Chaluvali (SVYM) in collaboration with Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA. They were shortlisted from hundreds of applicants through a rigorous selection process that required the submission of audition videos. Only the 30 best applicants were selected for the programme. The workshop was conducted by experienced mentors from Cornell University and focused on debate, public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork and effective communication. During the three-day programme, participants were trained on argumentation, logical reasoning, persuasive speech, rebuttals and effective use of points of information (POI).
• They then participated in multiple debate rounds on contemporary issues. They applied the skills acquired during the training sessions.
• RVK- Srinagar student Lahari represented his team as the first and second speaker in various rounds.
• RVK – Srinagar Vishaka actively contributed throughout the competition.
• The duo advanced to the semi-finals and secured third position as a result of their performance.
• The workshop concluded with a valedictory function attended by the Principal of Skill School of Excellence, parents of the participants, distinguished guests and a representative of Vivekananda Hospital.
• Students from each participating institution shared their learning experiences.
• Mentors were felicitated. Awards were given under various categories. All the participants received certificates.
ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜುಲೈ 2-4: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಶ್ರೀನಗರದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಲಹರಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶಾಖ, ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಯುವ ಚಳುವಳಿ (SVYM) ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ನ್ಯೂಯಾರ್ಕ್ನ ಇಥಾಕಾದ ಕಾರ್ನೆಲ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು. ಆಡಿಷನ್ ವೀಡಿಯೊಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕಠಿಣ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನೂರಾರು ಅರ್ಜಿದಾರರಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಾರ್ಟ್ಲಿಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ 30 ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಅರ್ಜಿದಾರರನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ನೆಲ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಅನುಭವಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು ಮತ್ತು ಚರ್ಚೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಭಾಷಣ, ವಿಮರ್ಶಾತ್ಮಕ ಚಿಂತನೆ, ನಾಯಕತ್ವ, ತಂಡದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಸಂವಹನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರು ವಾದ ರಚನೆ, ತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ತಾರ್ಕಿಕತೆ, ಮನವೊಲಿಸುವ ಭಾಷಣ, ಖಂಡನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಬಳಕೆ (POI) ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದರು.
• ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಬಹು ಚರ್ಚಾ ಸುತ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ತರಬೇತಿ ಅವಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನ್ವಯಿಸಿದರು.
• ರಾವಿಕೆ – ಶ್ರೀನಗರದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಲಹರಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂಡವನ್ನು ವಿವಿಧ ಸುತ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡನೇ ಭಾಷಣಕಾರರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸಿದರು.
• ರಾವಿಕೆ – ಶ್ರೀನಗರದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವಿಶಾಕಾ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಉದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಸೆಮಿಫೈನಲ್ಗೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆದು ಮೂರನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು.
• ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವು ನೈಪುಣ್ಯ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಎಕ್ಸಲೆನ್ಸ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರು, ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರ ಪೋಷಕರು, ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು.
• ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಅನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು.
• ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
• ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು
• ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದವರು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದರು.
